LATEST ALBUM
We are happy to be putting out some new Slight Panache material. Aperture is a compilation of six of our original songs that we tracked in a studio environment. These are the first recordings that we have done more than one take at. We still recorded each take as if it was a live performance, straight through, but it was a real pleasure to be able to take another pass at a tune and dicuss as a band how we wanted the songs to unfold dynamically and were we wanted to try and take the solos. As always it was a pleasure working with CJ and Greg and I am looking forward to doing much more of this with some brand new material.
A delightful bonus on the album is one track featuring a great friend of mine, Anibal Seminario. Anibal is one of the best musicians and people that I know. I am blessed to be friends with him and to work with him when our schedules line up. Please check out his playing on our tune Tomorrow. Anibal adds a beautiful element on the tenor sax to this piece and lays down an amazing solo. We hope you enjoy the new material
Slight Panache is a jazz fusion trio project that aims to modernize the sound pallete of a traditional organ trio instrumentation. The group consists of CJ Hampton on drumset, Greg Ramirez on keyboards and Dominic Furiani on guitar. We play original compositions that blend elements of funk, rock, latin, blues and hip hop into groove-oriented arrangements. A primary compositional intention of this group is to allow a large degree of creative freedom through improvisation for all three members. The jazz element of this group, established through the improvisational approach to each song, allows the material to stay fresh and exciting to us as the players and that has translated very well to our live audiences. Many of our tunes are upbeat, energetic and at times danceable.Â
We are very close to a release of our first studio recorded album! This album allowed us to spend time in a studio environment and discuss how we wanted each tune to unfold and the dynamic progression from beginning to end of each song. We recorded a select few of our favorite songs to play for this album and the studio environment resulted in some great captures of live performances. On this album, we had the amazing opurtunity to feature one of my dear friends, Anibal Seminario, on our song Tomorrow. We are really happy to unvail a more polished sound to our audience and look forward to getting to work on our upcoming project full of brand new compositions.
